The workshop

The making of the oud,
gesture after gesture

A rare artisan craft, preserved and passed on: shaping and restoring the oud, as close as possible to the musicians who play it.

The craft

From wood to song

From selecting the woods to assembling the bowl, from the neck to the soundboard, each oud is born of a long sequence of precise, patient gestures.

The workshop carries on the forms and proportions of the Tunisian tradition, while tuning each instrument to the hand and ear of its future musician.
